THE ROLE
This is a remote position open to candidates authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, who presently reside in the US. There is a preference for candidates in states where we already have Builder Prime employees; California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, New York, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The Product Director will serve as product owner over our all-in-one software product. This position will keep our product development engine running smoothly by turning big-picture strategy into clear, actionable priorities for our engineering team. Through solid frameworks and clear communication, the Product Director ensures we're building the right things and getting them across the finish line. When this role is firing on all cylinders, our engineering team can focus on what they do best, our projects move faster, and our customers get more value consistently. The Product Director will report to the Head of Product Engineering and will oversee three product management and design team members, scaling the function further in 2026 and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and champion a compelling product vision that aligns market trends with customer needs, guiding teams toward clear objectives
Lead and grow a high-performing team of product professionals by setting clear expectations, providing actionable feedback, facilitating skill development, and creating growth opportunities within the product domain
Develop and maintain product roadmaps in conjunction with senior management by weighing business urgency against value, effectively balancing stakeholder requirements and resource constraints
Identify and prioritize opportunities to integrate market-leading AI capabilities into the product roadmap to enhance user experience, improve efficiency, and drive competitive advantage
Lead cross-functional collaboration to define AI feature requirements, use cases, and success metrics that deliver measurable value to customers
Strategically manage the product backlog, prioritizing features and fixes based on business value
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive user experiences
Conduct backlog refinement sessions and participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Consult with Head of Product Engineering on delivery dates and deadlines
Participate in refinement and retrospective sessions with Engineering team members as needed
Translate business requirements into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria
Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure product alignment with go-to-market strategies, gather customer feedback, and identify opportunities to increase product adoption and retention.
Drive market research initiatives, including customer interviews, to uncover customer needs and competitive opportunities, ensuring product relevance and impact
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) using a variety of tools (including Pendo) to measure delivered features and overall product success
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
5-7+ years of product management or product ownership experience in B2B SaaS environments, working with multiple engineering teams and multiple roadmaps
3+ years of full people management experience, including hiring, performance management, giving feedback, etc.
Experience with subscription and usage-based business models
Experience conducting user research and usability testing
Demonstrated knowledge of current AI trends and experience incorporating relevant capabilities (such as predictive analytics, NLP, or machine learning) into B2B SaaS product roadmaps.
Understanding of UX principles and design thinking
Technical background or ability to understand technical concepts quickly

Preferred
Experience working in home improvement or adjacent industry, or in other trades
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related field
Understanding of AI/ML development processes and ability to collaborate effectively with data scientists and ML engineers

COMPENSATION
This position will pay a base salary of $150,000 - $170,000 depending on experience and location, with an additional variable compensation element to be discussed in the interview process.
