Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale engineering projects from inception to completion, driving high-quality execution
- Design and implement scalable, distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and security
- Oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), container orchestration (Kubernetes or equivalent), and data transformation pipelines
- Contribute to platform-wide architectural decisions and shape long-term engineering strategy
- Deliver major system enhancements—e.g., platform-wide performance upgrades—within defined timelines (2–3 months)
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; establish best practices in design, testing, and code quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define priorities and technical direction for key initiatives
- Unblock and support internal partners while improving systems that reduce tech debt and enhance delivery
Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and systems design
- Proven experience delivering and scaling large infrastructure or distributed systems projects
- Expertise in Kubernetes and container technologies (e.g., Docker, cri-o)
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially GCP; familiarity with Google Cloud Console and Cloud Functions is a plus
- Proficiency with our core stack: Go, Python, TypeScript, NodeJS, Vue 3, Hapi, SQL (BigQuery preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support technical growth within engineering teams
- Experience leading incident response and ensuring service reliability in high-stakes environments

The expected range of pay for this position is $90,000 - $140,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications and experience. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
