Description

As an IT & Cybersecurity Manager, you will serve as Parsec's senior-most owner of our cybersecurity program and internal IT environment. You will develop and drive a multi-year security roadmap, implement and mature our security controls, and ensure we meet our compliance obligations across SOC 2, FERPA/COPPA, and NIST/CIS frameworks. You will own relationships with our external auditors and security vendors, and serve as the internal authority on all things security and IT. This is a strategic, high-ownership role for a seasoned practitioner who is equally comfortable setting direction and getting their hands dirty.

We are looking for a candidate who has been here before — someone who has built or significantly matured a security program at a fast-moving technology company and knows what good looks like. The ideal candidate brings a sharp risk-based mindset, earns trust quickly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and takes personal ownership of outcomes rather than waiting to be directed. Experience with regulated data environments, particularly in ed-tech or similarly compliance-heavy industries, is a strong plus. If you're the kind of person who sees a gap and closes it without being asked, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, own, and execute a multi-year cybersecurity roadmap aligned to Parsec's risk posture, growth trajectory, and compliance obligations, revisiting and updating it as the threat landscape and business needs evolve
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external security auditors and compliance assessors, owning the end-to-end SOC 2 audit process including evidence preparation, gap remediation, and auditor relationship management
  • Own vendor relationships across Parsec's security tooling portfolio, including contract and renewal management, performance evaluation, and ongoing assessment of whether existing tools continue to meet organizational needs
  • Implement, operate, and continuously improve security controls and tooling across MDM, endpoint protection, SIEM/log management, and cloud security platforms, introducing new capabilities where gaps exist
  • Manage and maintain the end user device environment, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management for employee hardware across the organization
  • Monitor security events and alerts, lead incident response and remediation efforts, and conduct post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations stakeholders to embed security best practices into internal workflows, new technology adoption, and vendor evaluations
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and configurations to ensure processes are auditable, repeatable, and institutionally resilient
  • Additional duties as assigned

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity or combined IT/security role, with demonstrated experience owning or significantly contributing to a security program at a technology company
  • Proven track record managing SOC 2 audit cycles from preparation through completion, including direct auditor relationship management
  • Deep working knowledge of NIST CSF or CIS Controls and FERPA/COPPA compliance requirements; ed-tech industry experience is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience with MDM platforms (e.g., Jamf, Microsoft Intune), endpoint protection solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne), and SIEM or log management platforms
  • Experience with cloud security concepts and tooling across one or more major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present risk and security strategy clearly to executive leadership and non-technical audiences
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA CySA+ preferred but not required

Benefits:

  • Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • In addition to 14 observed holidays, team members have unlimited paid time off
  • 401(k) plan with employer match
  • Employer Paid Life Insurance
  • Competitive Bonus Structure
  • Awesome Collaborative Office Space located in Downtown Fresno
